Yes — your design consultation is completely free of charge, with no obligation.

We'll work with you (or your occupational therapist, contractor, or care manager) to understand the space, your requirements, and any relevant accessibility standards such as Doc M or BS 8300. You'll receive a full layout and product specification at no cost, whether you're a private customer, a trade professional, or applying through a Disabled Facilities Grant.

Not at all. Your design belongs to you, and you're free to source materials elsewhere if you wish.

That said, because we stock the brands specified in your design (including AKW, Impey, Mira, and others), we can usually offer competitive pricing, confirm product availability upfront, and ensure what's ordered matches exactly what was designed. Many customers find it simpler to keep everything under one roof.

If you have a long-term disability or chronic health condition, the products in your order may qualify for VAT zero-rating under HMRC's relief for disabled people — meaning you won't pay the standard 20% VAT on eligible items.This can represent a significant saving, particularly on larger wetroom or kitchen projects.

To apply the exemption, we'll need you to complete a short VAT relief declaration form before your order is processed. Once completed, email your form to: sales@adaptationsupplies.co.uk  

Installation labour supplied as part of an adaptation for a disabled person may also qualify; we're happy to advise on a case-by-case basis.

We don't currently offer a formal instalment plan, but it's something we're looking to introduce in the future.

In the meantime, if budget phasing is a concern, it's worth speaking to us — we may be able to stage supply and delivery across two orders to help spread the cost.

If you're applying for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), funding may be available through your local authority to cover part or all of the cost; we're experienced in working alongside DFG applications and can advise on what's typically covered.
