Wall Fixing This seat is wall-mounted — the bracket must be fixed to a structurally adequate wall or backing board. The wall substrate must be capable of bearing the full dynamic load of a seated user up to 254kg.

Seat Height Adjustment Two sets of legs are supplied as standard, providing a seat height range of 390–640mm. Select the appropriate leg set on site to match the user's requirements. The support leg includes ±13mm fine adjustment to accommodate gradient in wet room floors.

Standards Tested to BS EN 12182:1998 and BS EN 12727:2000.

Warranty Condition Note The lifetime warranty applies only to products installed for the first time.

What this product is This is a fold-up shower seat that fixes permanently to the wall of a shower area. When not in use, it folds flat against the wall to keep the shower space clear. When needed, it folds down to provide a stable seated position for showering.

Why the horseshoe shape matters The open front of the seat (the horseshoe cut-out) makes personal hygiene easier when seated, without needing to stand or move position. This is particularly relevant for users with limited mobility or for carers assisting with intimate care.

The padded back and arms The back rest and arms are padded, which provides support and comfort for users who need to lean back or steady themselves during showering. The arms fold up independently — so if the user transfers onto the seat from a wheelchair or walking aid, one or both arms can be folded clear to allow the transfer, then folded back down for support once seated.

Adjustable height The seat height adjusts between 390mm and 640mm using the leg sets supplied. This range covers most users — your OT or installer will set this to the correct height for the person using it.

Suitable for larger users The seat is extra wide, with a 562mm seat width, and is rated to carry up to 254kg (40 stone).

Cleaning Wipe down with a mild detergent and soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the padded surfaces.

Lifetime — covers manufacturing and material defects only. Excludes normal wear and tear. Applies only to first installation, carried out in accordance with AKW installation instructions and relevant local/national regulations.

Is the seat supplied with the arms and back rest included? Yes. SKU 04250P is the complete configuration — grey padded seat, padded back rest, and grey padded independent folding arms are all included.

Is this suitable for a wet room floor? Yes. The support leg includes ±13mm of fine adjustment to allow for the gradient typical of wet room floors, so the seat can be set level even on a sloped surface.

What wall type does this fix to? The seat must be fixed to a wall capable of bearing the dynamic load of a seated user. Solid masonry, timber stud with adequate backing, or a proprietary backing rail system are all acceptable. Standard plasterboard without backing is not. If you're unsure about your wall construction, consult your installer before ordering.
