For Trade & Installers
Standard Width — Specify for Space-Constrained Enclosures At 442mm, this seat is 120mm narrower than the Extra Wide variants.
No Back or Arms This seat provides no posterior or lateral support. It is appropriate where the user has sufficient trunk stability to sit unsupported, or where wall-mounted grab rails provide the required lateral support.
Wall Fixing & Substrate Must be fixed to a structurally adequate substrate capable of bearing a dynamic load of 254kg.
Seat Height Adjustment Two sets of legs supplied as standard, covering 390–640mm. Set to the height confirmed by OT assessment or measured on site. The ±13mm support leg fine adjustment must be correctly set to ensure the seat sits level on sloped wet room floors.
Standards Tested to BS EN 12182:1998 (assistive products — general requirements) and BS EN 12727:2000 (ranked seating — strength and durability).
Warranty Condition Lifetime warranty applies only to first installation.
For Homeowners & Carers
What this product is A wall-mounted shower seat that folds flat against the wall when not in use, and folds down to provide a stable seated position for showering. It is a seat surface only — there is no back rest, arms or cushion. If the person showering needs support behind their back or something to grip when sitting and standing, a version with back and arms would be more suitable.
Why standard width rather than extra wide? This seat is 442mm wide — designed for standard-width shower enclosures where a wider seat would not fit comfortably or would obstruct the shower area. If your shower enclosure is a standard cubicle rather than a large wet room, this is likely the correct size. If you have a wet room or larger enclosure and want a wider, more comfortable seat, look at the Extra Wide versions instead.
No arms or back — is this right? This seat suits users who can sit independently without needing something to lean against or push off from. Many people use wall-mounted grab rails alongside the seat to provide that support, rather than seat-mounted arms. If you're not sure which level of support is needed, an occupational therapist assessment will clarify the right specification before you order.
Adjustable height The seat adjusts between 390mm and 640mm in height using the leg sets supplied. The correct height is normally set by the installer based on an OT recommendation or measured against the user's seated height.
Cleaning Wipe down with hot soapy water and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, bleach, or caustic products — these will damage the frame finish.
Warranty — Summary
Lifetime — covers manufacturing and material defects only. Excludes normal wear and tear, accidental damage, damage from incorrect installation, inappropriate use, or improper cleaning. Applies only to the first installation.
FAQs
Is there a version of this seat with arms or a back rest? Yes the Standard Shower Seat with Back and Arms
Can I buy a cushion separately? Yes in Blue or Grey.
What wall does it fix to? Must be fixed to a substrate capable of bearing a 254kg dynamic load — solid masonry or a backing rail/board system is required. Standard plasterboard without backing is not adequate. Your installer should confirm wall construction before fixing.
Can the height be adjusted after installation? Yes. The seat height can be adjusted between 390mm and 640mm via the support legs. The ±13mm fine adjustment on the support leg can also be changed without removing the wall bracket.
