Product Overview

The AKW M17 DigiPump is a mains-powered shower waste pump built for installations where gravity drainage is not possible and higher flow volumes need to be managed. With a maximum capacity of 17 litres per minute, it handles the greater output of mixer showers whilst remaining fully compatible with electric showers, making it a versatile choice across a wider range of installation types. The pump responds automatically via an internal or external flow sensor, and its adjustable delay and run-on times allow calibration to the specific installation for efficient, low-noise operation. IP45 rated and approved for Zones 1 and 2, compatible with AKW, Mira, Triton and other brands.

17 lpm Capacity — Sized for Mixer Shower Flow Rates: The M17 is matched to the higher output typical of mixer showers, draining up to 17 litres per minute. This prevents water pooling on the shower tray and ensures the pump keeps pace with the shower under normal daily use without operating beyond its duty cycle.

Wired or Wireless Connection Options — Installer Flexibility: The M17 can be hard-wired to the flow sensor of compatible electric showers including the AKW iTherm and many other brands. For wireless connectivity with AKW SmartCare Plus and SmartCare Lever electric showers, the AKW Wireless Pump Module is available separately — useful where post-installation decorative work needs to be avoided.

Reversible Pump Head with Four Valves — Practical to Install and Service: The pump head can be rotated to allow flow in either direction, meaning inlet pipework can be run from left or right. Two non-return valves prevent backflow through the pump. The flap valve and bowl design aids debris removal and simplifies servicing — a service kit including two replacement non-return valves is available separately (25457).

FAQs

Is the M17 suitable for both mixer and electric showers? Yes. The M17 is compatible with both mixer and electric showers, including brands such as AKW, Mira, and Triton. The 22mm inlet connection accommodates the higher flow volumes associated with mixer showers. If you are running an electric-only installation with lower flow rates, the M11 (25470) may be the more appropriate choice.

What is the maximum head and lift for the M17? The M17 has a maximum outlet head of 1m (39in), a maximum inlet lift of 0.5m (20in), and a maximum combined head and lift of 1.5m (59in). These figures apply across all three DigiPump models. If your installation requires greater head or lift than these figures, an alternative pump solution should be specified.

Is a service kit available for the M17? Yes. An M17 DigiPump service kit including two replacement non-return valves is available separately under product code 25457. The pump head design — with its flap valve and bowl construction — is intended to make debris removal and routine servicing straightforward on site.
