AKW Option EW5 Half Height Shower Screens 750mm Care Screens

A half height carer shower screen designed for assisted bathing, combining a tri-fold door on one side with a bi-fold door on the other — both opening inwards and outwards for maximum flexibility during carer-assisted showering.

The reduced height of the screen allows carers easy access to the user while still containing water effectively, thanks to a stronger magnetic strip and improved elastomeric gaskets that provide a continuous, watertight seal.

Built on a robust frame with hardwearing Nylon 6 hinges and caps, the EW5 features 180° hinges on the doors and unique locking rising-butt two-way hinges on the bi-fold sections for smooth, durable operation over years of use.

Shatterproof PET frosted panels provide privacy and added safety, while a quality white curtain on an L-shaped rail with a 600mm drop rod completes the water barrier. Smooth modern latches and D handles are included as standard.

This is the Option EW5 wetroom variant — designed for use with tanked wetroom floors (For shower trays see Option E5). Available in left-handed and right-handed configurations across six size options.

How to Choose the Correct Screen

1. Pick Your Handedness:

Left-handed vs Right-handed applies to rectangular trays (e.g. 1300×820mm), where one panel is longer than the other. You determine whether you need a left-handed or right-handed screen based on which side the longer door panel is located, when standing at the opening door entry corner:

• Left-handed - the longer door panel is on your left as you face the shower
• Right-handed - the longer door panel is on your right as you face the shower

2. Choose your size:

Each option has 2 door panels. Measure your longest door first, then your shortest length. Then select those sizes from the size option boxes.
