Description

The SWP/WM is a shower waste pump kit for electric shower installations where gravity drainage isn't an option. Based on the proven Switch Connect (SWP) platform, the Direct Connect removes the need for a separate flow switch by connecting directly to the electric shower's own switching mechanism — the shower controls the pump, so there's no additional component in the water supply line.

This makes the SWP/WM a cleaner, simpler installation for electric shower-only setups. It is not compatible with mixer showers — if you need to pump drainage from a mixer shower, the Switch Connect (SWP) with the SWP/MX conversion kit is the correct product.

The pump handles up to 8 litres per minute, runs a de-puddling cycle 15 minutes after the shower is switched off, and includes all fittings required for a single feed electric shower installation. Suitable for wet room floors and shower trays. For wet room floor installations, a TAD13 shallow waste gully is required separately.

Warranty: 3 years, extendable to 5 years on registration.

Comparison chart of different pump kits with features and specifications.SWP/WM is the right choice if: You're installing an electric shower that supports direct pump connection and want a clean installation without a separate flow switch.

Consider SWP if: You need mixer shower compatibility, or your electric shower doesn't support direct connection.

Consider SWP/IMBT if: You're fitting a Mira Advance Flex Extra and want Bluetooth auto shower-stop.

Consider SWP/IMP if: You need auto shower-stop, an external switch, or built-in anti-vibration noise reduction.

For Specifiers and Installers

The SWP/WM connects directly to the electric shower's pump terminal rather than using a flow switch in the water supply line. This removes one component from the installation and means the pump activation is governed entirely by the shower's own switching — there's no separate sensor to commission or calibrate for flow detection.

Installation notes:

  • Electric showers only — direct connection compatibility must be confirmed before installation
  • Not suitable for mixer shower installations; use SWP with SWP/MX for those
  • For wet room floor installations, the TAD13 shallow waste gully is required separately and is not included in the kit
  • 12 adjustable settings allow pump output to be matched to the installation
  • Active link diagnostics support fault-finding on site
  • IP45 rated
  • Warranty is 3 years standard, extended to 5 years on product registration with Impey

For Homeowners and Family Members

If you're having a new electric shower fitted in a room where the waste water can't drain away by gravity — for example, a ground floor wet room or a bathroom where the drain run has no fall — a pump kit is the standard solution.

The Direct Connect works automatically: when you turn the shower on, the pump starts. When you turn it off, the pump runs a brief cleaning cycle about 15 minutes later to clear residual water, then stops. No buttons to press.

Because it connects directly to the electric shower rather than using a separate sensor in the pipework, there are fewer components involved — which some installers prefer for simplicity. Your installer will need to confirm that your specific electric shower model supports a direct pump connection before ordering.

Please note: Pump kits require correct installation by a qualified plumber or bathroom installer familiar with pumped drainage systems.
