The SWP is a flow-switch activated shower waste pump kit for installations where gravity drainage to a soil stack or drain isn't achievable. It's the original Whale waste pump kit and has been installed in over 150,000 homes across the UK — a reliable, proven choice for pumped wet room and shower tray installations.

The pump activates automatically via a flow switch installed in the shower's water supply. When the shower is turned on, water passing through the flow switch triggers the pump to run. When the shower is turned off, a 15-minute de-puddling cycle runs briefly to clear residual water from the waste — then the pump stops automatically.

The SWP handles both mixer and electric showers (up to 12 l/min for mixer; 8 l/min for electric) and includes all fittings required for a single feed electric shower installation as standard. For mixer shower installations, the Mixer Shower Conversion Kit (SWP/MX) is required separately. For wet room floor installations, a TAD13 shallow waste gully is required.

Warranty: 3 years, extendable to 5 years on registration.

If the shower or wet room you're installing can't drain by gravity — for example, because it's below the level of the soil pipe, or the floor layout makes a gravity fall impossible — a pump kit is the standard solution.

The Whale Switch Connect works automatically: when the shower is turned on, the flow switch detects water moving through the supply pipe and starts the pump. When you turn the shower off, it runs a short cleaning cycle about 15 minutes later to clear the last of the water, then stops. You don't need to press anything.
